Found Sutherland from reading the great reviews and called - and I'm so impressed. From speaking initially with Ti and his explaining the "why" of his suggestions, to finding a commercial grade replacement faucet matching the style I wanted, and the professional, calm, timely installation by Cameron who spotted an issue with the sink's overflow drainage assembly and fixed it even before I pointed it out. Very reasonable pricing for the quality of work onsite and the excellent customer service. I would recommmend Sutherland in a heartbeat.

We just moved into a new house and have experienced several plumbing issues, including toilet repairs, hot water heaters, and clogged sinks. Everyone at Sutherland plumbing, from the office people to the plumbers (Abe and Cameron) have been so incredible helpful and professional.

I requested a price estimate for re-installing undermount kitchen sink with proper caulking. But instead of providing an estimate, Ti explained in detail for 15 minutes how I can address the problem myself and save good amount of money. I will definitely reach out to him again when I have some more serious plumbing projects to work on. Honest and trustworthy.

We had Ti and his team at Sutherland Plumbing replaced our water-main in 2021 (and added a PRV). It went extremely well (given my concern about the need for their exotic trenching abilities).
Then, a few days ago we also had them back to replace a thermal expansion tank. Cameron (Cam) did a wonderful job: quality work, very personable, and informative.

The team at Sutherland Plumbing is fantastic. After noticing a small pool of water at the base of my driveway, they guided me through replacing my main waterline and water heater. The team was kind, considerate, and quick to respond to my needs. I highly recommend them and will continue to be a customer. I appreciated the videos they sent beforehand, explaining the work they'd be doing on my home. If you need a plumber, give them a call. They are ready to help.

Sutherland Plumbing installed a water heater for me in August 2025. When I needed quotes, I checked their reviews --- incredibly high --- and their CCB license --- clean. I called, talked with Ti, who was professional and helpful. I sent photos, they gave me a quote, and we had a deal in a few hours. Their workmen were very professional, took care with my house, installed a new expansion tank, new valves, new copper tubes too. I paid a little more than another quote which seemed, in comparison, a little sloppy. Warranty is 7 years, all parts and labor. This is a good company which I would use for any plumbing issues.

We had the team replace a 25 year old outdoor spigot and did a great job. While there, they also helped get a couple things out of our sink that the kids put down (Yay legos). The real reason for the 5 star review is that Ty was able to give me a very straightforward response and guidance when we found out that our dishwasher had leaked and caused water damage. I reached out right away and was told that I needed to reach out to a restoration and appliance person and they weren’t the right group to help. Instead of wasting our time, they put me in touch with the right people and helped me get to resolution a lot faster than I would have on my own. I would recommend this group to anyone!

Sutherland has done piping repair for us in the past and most recently replaced our gas water heater last week. They consistently perform quality work, are available quickly, and offer reasonable pricing. They're also professional, courteous, and show up on time, which we really appreciate. We hope we don't need them again, but if we do, we have their number saved to our list of preferred contractors!

We had a pipe burst between the shutoff and our house - under the sidewalk. I reached out to multiple companies and Sutherland was able to come out and give a quote quickly. I felt very comfortable with the gentleman who came out and believed they could get the job done. They were competitively priced compared to others and I went with them.

Can’t say enough good things about this company. Even though our home isn’t very old (built 2017), it was clear the original contracted plumber used cheap materials and had poor workmanship. The water heater started leaking from the expansion tank on top which had poor fittings, and all of our bathroom sink drain pipes were leaking from poorly fitted drain piping and cheap materials as well. Cameron from Sutherland explained the "why" behind the issues and how they’d be addressed. The Sutherland team was very knowledgeable, responsive, kind, courteous, and worked efficiently but with care and attention to detail. When they walked me through the completed work, the quality and durability contrast from what we had before was immediately apparent. Highly recommend!

I was looking for a company to replace my 12 year old water heater. The owner of the business took time to call me personally and walk me through the choices for my house and helped me to understand why a tankless system may not be the best choice for my residence. More recently, Cameron helped with a pilot light issue and had me back up and running in short order. Sutherland has gained a customer for life.

I called Sutherland plumbing for a clogged drain in my laundry room. Sean Anderson came to do the work and he was amazing. Sean unclogged the drain, gave me some great recommendations, and even offered to help move boxes or change a light-bulb that I couldn't reach. These guys rocked it, we found our plumber! I had a second story master bathtub leaking into the garage below. They assessed and needed to do some research on the tub, because the overflow on our model is a bit odd. They promptly followed up with an estimate and we scheduled the repair. Sutherland Plumbing showed up on time for a half day job, then they reassessed the situation and determined they could fix the issue by simply tightening the overflow cover. Amazingly, they charged me nothing. Zilch! They could have easily just done the job as scheduled and made some pretty nice coin. I love that people are still honest and have integrity. They valued gaining a new customer for life over making some cash in the moment. If you have doubts, don't. Hire Sutherland Plumbing!

We had Sutherland replace our bathroom sink/tub drain. The original plumbing was 100 years old Cameron and Jack did an excellent job updating the drain piping down to the hub. It’s been about a month now and everything continues to work great. Cameron was very knowledgeable and provided top notch work.

Abe and Cameron were super nice and responsive. They walked me through my hot water tank replacement and features and helped me try to figure out why my water was tasting bad. Ti was also very helpful when I called in to the company. I'm impressed and will use them again.

We had Sutherland install a new water heater and expansion tank a few years back. It's been great. Unfortunately the expansion tank developed a leak just recently, but these guys had us back up and running in less than 24 hour. Their guy Jack was everything you could ask for: professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend working with them.

A couple of years ago I was searching for a plumber and called Sutherland, at that time they were unable to help me as it was tied into a hvac unit but Ti gave me some really helpful advice that saved me from a potential nightmare. Fast forward to now, I had a water line with chronic leak problems, I didn't hesitate, I called Sutherland to see about putting in a new line from the meter to the house. Ti, Cameron and Jack did a great job, very efficient, clean and professional. The whole process took less than 3 hours and that included answering my questions and taking the time to explain the process. Sutherland is a highly professional family business, and they went out of the way to solve my problem. The water suddenly stopped running in my house - well, not exactly, it would run for a few seconds and then stop. I asked my neighbors and their water was all running fine. Portland Water Bureau said it wasn't their problem. So I called Sutherland Plumbing randomly, and we did some trouble shooting over the phone. It looked like it may be a VERY expensive issue in the pipe between the house and the street.

Ti Sutherland found a time to come by, since this was kind of an emergency since we couldn't shower, and he found the problem in just a couple of minutes. Turned out it was only the HOT water that was being stopped, and it was a janky flood prevention device that had been installed with the water heater. The batteries died and it shut off the flow. Replaced the batteries, and boom! We're all fixed.

Ti actually got a big kick out of the whole process. Solving problems is his bag. Highly recommend.

My daughter recently bought her first home and the water heater failed before she finished moving in. Was impressed by Sutherland’s ratings so called them. Ti diagnosed the problem via text message, saw the water heater was 20 years old / at its end of useful life and recommended replacement. He emailed an estimate which we accepted and he was onsite within an hour. Removal of the old unit revealed rusty galvanized steel pipe and ‘builder grade’ shoddy work and Ti replaced / upgraded all of that with high quality materials for no extra charge. Truly outstanding work! Plus, easy to do business with. Ti and his team earned my highest recommendation.

I have hired Sutherland before for sinks and toilet installs and they have always been professional, courteous, thorough and fantastic about tidying the space afterwards. They explained why they used a particular brand and we went with their recommendation on all the taps and toilets though I felt no pressure from them to do so. Last night our water heater suddenly went out (we had a subpar water heater installed by someone before we had heard of Sutherland unfortunately) and I called Ti at Sutherland this morning. I have to say Ti spent a ton of time communicating with me about a service line replacement. Admittedly I ask a ton of questions to best understand what I am getting when comparing bids. I determined our water heater needed replacement. I spent 2 1/2 hours doing thorough research on plumbers doing water heater replacement in our area. I don’t know exactly how many I scratched off due to suboptimal reviews, but it was many.
**I ended up contacting 2 companies.

Why I chose- I spoke with Ti Sutherland about my water heater replacement need. Ti told me his way of doing business. You can read reviews and if that business has almost all good reviews that is helpful. But you also want to use your instincts. My instincts told me that Ti’s story was accurate.
Ti sent me a proposal immediately after we talked. I checked right back with him on a question, which he answered. I then scheduled the water heater replacement.
Sutherland Plumbing installs a water heater brand that I think is better than the average one most people end up with. While it is wise to buy a better product, for me, if it requires installation, that often is my number 1 concern. You’re usually better off with a somewhat lesser product installed very well, than a better product installed poorly. Here I got a better product installed very well!
Jack did my installation very well and he’s a quality guy!
I think we all want to work with people or companies we are comfortable doing business with again and again.

Working with Ti was awesome. I noticed a leak in my water heater and started searching for a reputable company to work with. I spoke with Ti on the phone and he was informative and helpful. He seemed to actually care! My new water heater was installed yesterday and it looks and runs fabulously. I highly recommend Sutherland Plumbing.

When our water main broke we contacted Sutherland Plumbing at the recommendation of a neighbor. Sutherland provided an estimate and we subsequently hired them to make the repairs. I sent them photos to facilitate the process. They quickly came out to make a temporary connection until we could be scheduled for the replacement of the main as well as the irrigation connections and backflow device. They completed the work as scheduled and greatly improved the access to the shutoff valves.

Extremely pleased with Ti Sutherland and Jack. They called back immediately when we discovered a wet spot under our water heater. They gave thorough advice on what to look for in any plumbing contractor and what to do if our leak expanded, etc. They rearranged their schedule to come the next day. Incredible replacement job, with needed upgrades, they cleaned up and even rehung the door to our room. No hesitation in recommending them. Thank you!

I was totally overwhelmed starting with a knock on the door from a water district employee, telling me I had a major leak in my main line. I remembered my late husband telling me if I need plumbing help to call Ti Sutherland from Sutherland Plumbing. So I did! Ti was out within a day, explained everything to me, gave me two options, and took the time to explain it again to my son. Sutherland Plumbing had to put a new line in and they had it finished within four hours! Two weeks later, I had a major water issue at another home out of town and I called Ti once again. He came all the way out to look at the problem and gave me a recommendation on how to go about fixing the issue. In this day and age, it’s hard to find someone who goes out of their way to help, is straight-up, honest, kind, and with very reasonable repair costs. I will never use anyone else for any plumbing issue.

We've had Sutherland Plumbing over to our house multiple times over the last few years to fix various issues that have popped up in our 100+ year old home. They have always been able to come out and fix our problems. Their team is excellent, prompt and easy to work with. They most recently helped us to remove some old, corroded steel pipes and replace our kitchen faucet to fix an issue with low water pressure due to the pipes breaking down.

We've used Sutherland's for a number of projects over the last couple years, including an emergency repair during COVID. Most recently we had to replace a hot water heater that was way beyond its prime. Their technician Jack was able to get here early and did a great job with install and explaining how the new system worked.

We've had our Sutherland installed water heater in our home we've been in for the past 10 years, with no issues until a heating element failed recently. We had an appointment within a couple of days, they arrived on time, and had it fixed in about an hour. Great job guys, thank you!

I didn't even pay them, just consulted, and Ti was so gracious with his time, and honest advice. Unfortunately, the timeline of this emergency repair did not work with Sutherland's availability at this moment. I count probably an hour and a half over two days I spoke and texted with Ti and he didn't even get paid a cent. He went above and beyond and offered real honest advice about the situation, knowledge about what to expect and how to spot a bad job and things to avoid. I learned so much and he was just so helpful and obviously cares about customers, and just people in general to make sure they get the best service possible and don't get fleeced with sub par repairs. Just based on this experience, I will absolutely use Sutherland Plumbing for any plumbing needs in the future. They will be the first people I call.

We highly recommend Sutherland Plumbing for the greater Portland OR area. They were able to bid us remotely (by submitting photos) on a relatively straightforward job of replacing two aging, leaky frost-proof faucets accessible by crawl space in Tigard. I'd done my share of "youtube faucet repair" without noticeable improvement! The employee who showed up, Jack, was professional and friendly from the start. He worked in our crawl space for several hours and frequently updated me about the details of the replacement as relevant to the job. Since the bid was placed without a Sutherland plumber looking in our crawl spaces, Jack encountered several unanticipated wrinkles (pipes that had been re-re-re-repaired and needed to be cut, tight access between pipes and floor boards, etc.). He quickly and competently adjusted his approach to the challenges without needing to adjust the original bid, which was much appreciated. We have two wonderful new outdoor faucets now and we're very happy with the workmanship evident in the crawlspace and on the exterior. The bid was reasonable and we definitely got the quality that had clearly been lacking on the previous "repairs" on these faucets.

Update May 2025: Sutherland did a great deal of work at our home. We had a toilet replaced, a new kitchen sink and two new bathroom sinks installed. The shut-off valves also needed replacing due to their age, and a new dishwasher got hooked up. Ti, Jack and Cameron arrived promptly, did a walk-through and got to work right away. Their work is solid, all of them were very professional and upfront about what they were doing. There are some reviews on Google that their prices are too high; while the work certainly cost us, I feel confident that I won't have to spend any more money on these fixtures for a very long time. Sutherland is an excellent company! I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Sutherland Plumbing. Courtney answered my initial inquiry within an hour. I had a quote the next day, and she said they could get someone to my house the very next day. Sean showed up promptly wearing a mask and observing physical distancing. He replaced our water heater and went over its features and troubleshooting. He also capped an unused drainpipe at no charge. He then discovered a leak that suddenly appeared when we ran the faucets, and gave me options and tips on what to do going forward (his schedule prevented the leak being repaired at this time). His professionalism, know-how and easy-to-understand explanations left me confident in the work done, and that the future repair will be handled just as well. Highly recommended doesn't begin to cover it.

Had my water heater fail on a cold and rainy Saturday morning. The heater was under warranty and Ti went out his way to personally come over and replace it on his normal day off. Sutherland is company that stands by its work with professionalism and care.

Shout out to Sutherland Plumbing! The City of Tualatin informed me of a water leak in our main water line on Friday, Feb 7th. I gave Ti a call that morning and he was able to provide info on their drilling process (to avoid days of trench digging) to install a new water line from the sidewalk to our home. It was quite informative! Cameron came out later that day to take specific measurements and provided a quote for the work, along with warning that there may be other things that weren't up to code and may need work. The team arrived this morning, Wed, Feb 12th, got to work, and were done by 3pm! They would've been done sooner, but needed to wait on the telecom inspectors to locate any lines that may have impeded their drilling. Needless to say, I'm impressed that the job was done in less than 8 hours and that my water bill will be back to normal. Thank you!

When they left, no sign that they had been in the garage. Explained everything in detail, answered all my questions, and encouraged me to call for even the smallest question or concern. Wow!!! I had a hot water heater leak and Cameron and Jack came out the same day to replace it. They were professional, competent, friendly, and respectful. I would not hesitate to hire them again. I can't recommend Sutherland Plumbing highly enough. We've been using Sutherland for years. They've done everything for us: fixed a leaking greywater pipe in the crawlspace, installed a new toilet and sink, replaced a leaking hose bib, and upgraded all of the turnoff valves on the sinks, so we'd actually be able to use them in case of emergency! We call Sutherland every single time because they are courteous, knowledgeable, and fair with their pricing. They also make sure you get the highest quality materials that won't break. I like how you can communicate with them via text before your scheduled time and how they work hard to collect any necessary information in advance of the visit, so they don't show up without the parts they need.
